Opportunity UCF Strategic Communications is seeking a creative and highly motivated Social Media Specialist to help bring the university's stories to life across UCF's enterprise social media channels. This role is ideal for a hands‑on content creator who is passionate about visual storytelling and staying ahead of emerging social media trends. The successful candidate will capture and transform moments from across the university into engaging video, photo, and design content that resonates with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and other key audiences. Classification Title: Social Media Communications Specialist II Responsibilities Independently create, edit, and produce compelling video, photo, and design content for official UCF social media platforms. Stay updated with the latest trends in social media to ensure content remains engaging and relevant. Collaborate with team members to develop content strategies, policies, and best practices for social media platforms. Attend and capture engaging content at special events, working flexible hours as needed. Participate in team meetings, contributing ideas and feedback to enhance content quality and effectiveness. Coordinate and train student interns in content creation and equipment maintenance. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6). Preferred Qualifications Experience creating original social media content for an organization, student organization, or similar audience‑facing account. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite or similar creative tools to edit visual content. Knowledge of social media trends, platform‑specific strategies, and best practices for creating timely, audience‑focused content. Strong creative judgment, collaboration skills, and ability to translate stories, ideas, or organizational priorities into compelling social media content. Familiarity with UCF, higher education, student life, or mission‑driven storytelling. Salary Range Anticipated salary range: $49,000–$50,000, based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations. Work Authorization All applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position, and the university cannot accommodate H‑1B transfers or employment‑based visa processing for individuals currently sponsored by another employer.
