The minimum salary is $54,545.92 annually
This position is not eligible for overtime (exempt); however, the city has a compensatory time leave program for employees that grants leave time for hours worked in excess of forty hours.
Pay Grade 520

GENERAL DESCRIPTION


The purpose of this position is to supervise and provide assistance for the provision of in-house and community services to Fayette County residents 18 years of age and older who have immediate needs related to financial assistance, safe housing, utilities, sidewalk replacement, and tree removal services.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors degree in social work, public administration, criminal justice, social sciences, or other related field
  • Four (4) years of related experience
  • Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience
  • Additional years of related experience may substitute for years of education

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Oversees and reviews social services programs to ensure objectives, guidelines, requirements, eligibility, and benefit standards are met
  • Conducts intake and needs assessments, counsels participants on their rights and responsibilities, coordinates and approves the provision of services, and assigns cases to Eligibility Counselors
  • Supervises, trains, reviews, and evaluates the work of subordinate staff
  • Enters and reviews client records in databases to ensure accuracy of requirements, reports, and documentation
  • Communicates and responds to inquiries from internal and external customers, community services providers, and the public; conducts services needs assessments as needed
  • Serves as the primary contact for third party vendors and partnering agencies; collaborates and networks for community development and services
  • Represent the division and LFUCG at various internal and external meetings and events
  • Performs related work as assigned

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS


All positions require drug testing and background check before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16.
