Job Summary


The AMRTC Social Work Supervisor works in collaboration with its peer to provide leadership, management, supervision, coordination, evaluation, and monitoring within AMRTC to the department of Social Services. Under the direction of the AMRTC Director of Social Services, this role leads the department in support of the mission of AMRTC to enhance the quality of social work services provided within the hospital through supporting social workers with clinical supervision, implementing initiatives to increase efficiencies and effectiveness of services provided, assists with delegating caseloads, facilitates and/or participates in active team meetings and social work department meetings, oversees discharge planning in the absence of unit social workers to ensure timely discharge to the clinically indicated level of care, directly manage discharges for patients who no longer meet criteria for continued hospital stay, provides extra support for difficult patient scenarios, and delivers ongoing coverage when needed.

The incumbent also works to identify strategies and approaches to improve coordination of care with community partners to optimize the impact of services provided. Additionally, to prevent delays in care and treatment or service gaps through care management, communication, and exchange of information.

As a member of the AMRTC leadership team, the incumbent represents social services at a variety of committees and operational and clinical structures. The employee provides recommendations on a variety of issues based on evaluation, observation, and discussion with all stakeholders to the AMRTC Director of Social Services.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

The incumbent must:

  • Hold a current license to practice as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the State of Minnesota, and
  • Is board certified as a clinical supervisor.

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to meeting the minimum requirements above, preference will be given to applicants with:

  • Specialized training and/or certifications in evidence-based treatments for clients with complex trauma, severe persistent mental illness, developmental disabilities, intense behavioral needs, substance abuse and other co-occurring disorders.
  • Has at least one year (2,000 hours) of professional experience in providing clinical supervision
  • Have at least one year (2,000 hours) of professional experience in providing evidence-based therapies
