The mission of the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) is to provide statewide leadership of a high-quality mental health and addiction prevention, treatment and recovery system that is effective and valued by all Ohioans.


What We Do

OhioMHAS operates regional psychiatric hospitals in six locations across the state that operate 365/24/7.
Our specialized facilities provide short-term, intensive treatment to patients in both inpatient and community-supported environments.
We also deliver comprehensive care to patients committed through the criminal justice system.

Salary Information

  • SALARY: $24.

    39 Hourly (based on education/experience) plus 15%/hour supplement**

Work Hours : Monday - Friday 8:00 a.

  • Within scope of practice, performs psychosocial interventions with clients, performs individual, family or group intervention (e.
    g.
    , counseling, testing & education of the client), develops intervention goals & objectives designed to give education & resolve client's problems in functioning, participates in process of establishing, implementing & evaluating treatment system's goals & objectives, interviews clients & client's family to establish case goals & objectives, assesses clients & determines specific intervention techniques for clients & monitors client's responses to treatment systems & provides feedback on effectiveness of prescribed treatment, evaluates lower-level social workers' cases & client's progress resulting from prescribed treatment plans.
  • Maintains necessary documentation to satisfy requirements of federal, state & local agencies & accrediting bodies; completes & maintains records (e.
    g.
    , bio psychosocial assessments, admission/discharge & aftercare summaries, progress notes, referrals, & discharge/transitional documents).
  • Establishes & maintains working relationships with other facilities, agencies & support services (e.
    g.
    , Social Security Administration, Medicaid, Medicare, Veteran Administration, public welfare) in order to coordinate referrals & conduct follow-up.
  • Plans & implements continuity of care from hospital to community by functioning as linkage for treatment team with case management system through ongoing regular collaboration (e.
    g, meetings, telephone conversations, correspondence).
  • Attends & participates in training sessions, department procedure & policy review meetings.
    Provide direction to Social Work students/interns.
