JOB DESCRIPTION:

The primary purpose of the Social/Clinical Research Assistant is to serve as a research assistant for studies in the PRIME Research Program at the UNC School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry. This person will assist with clinical research including subject recruitment, retention, and screening. This will also include consenting participants using good clinical practice guidelines, designing and posting recruitment advertisements, and collecting study-related data. This position may also include research phlebotomy training to obtain blood samples and biospecimen processing. This position is responsible for interacting with participants, their families, and study personnel and for creating and maintaining a warm and friendly atmosphere for the subjects so that they are amenable to completing the project.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

Experience with Microsoft Office and Zoom is essential. The ability to work well independently and with others in a team setting is critical.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

Experience in clinical research with human subjects is highly desired, and experience working with patients with psychosis is preferred. Knowledge of study recruitment, IRB submissions, obtaining informed consent is preferred. Experience with wet lab processing is a plus. Experience with phlebotomy and administering neurocognitive assessments preferred.
