Software Applications Test Engineer Apply
Position Summary:
- This position will participate in software design and peer reviews, develop test specifications and infrastructure, execute manual and automated tests, and perform analysis of implementation in an integrated environment or to test specific capabilities for interfaces or infrastructure in support of operations (e.g., Internal Messaging, control and monitoring, message and display recording and playback, failover processing).
- Responsibilities also include the coordination of lab resources, test results, and verification status with the program and customers.
Responsibilities:
- Experience with an Agile development process.
- Automated testing for requirement verification and performance assessment.
- Requirement and verification analysis.
- Conducting post-processing and analysis of collected data.
- Development of action plans based upon analysis of data.
- Documenting software deficiency reports.
- Presenting analysis results and plans of action orally and/or in written format (e.g., slides, annotated slides, test report document).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills enabling effective work in a small technical team environment, and accurately representing test perspectives to systems engineers, architects, software designers, other testers, test support personnel, Government customers, and personnel in other MDA programs.
- Experience in a DevSecOps environment is highly desirable.
Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will possess experience in testing and evaluation of a software-intensive system in a variety of test environments/venues, utilizing Agile development.
- This position will require a strong, self-starting individual capable of diving into problems with assistance from other test engineers and software developers.
- Candidate experience should include:
- Use of DoD test methodologies.
- Functional capability-related test/analysis planning and execution.
- Planning and execution of test data collection.
- Test data analysis and reporting.
- The analysis experience should involve characterizing system, software, or component performance using quantitative methods, reporting the characterization to subsequent users, and contributing to performance assessment by program system engineers.
- Experience may come from independent efforts or participation within test teams.
Education:
- A BS/MS degree in computer science or engineering or a related subject is preferred.
- Security+ Certification is extremely desirable.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience.
- Minimum Active SECRET Clearance Required.
