The AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) Planning Tools team is looking for a passionate, innovative, results‑oriented Software Developer II to build solutions that make it simpler for our field team to manage and operate at scale. As a Software Developer II on the SMGS Planning Tools team, you will contribute to defining and building the next go‑to‑market (GTM) platform for the AWS Sales organization and innovate in the space of Sales Planning and Management. You will be chartered with creating and operating applications that deliver critical capabilities to the field, embedding operational knowledge and best practices into everything we do. Key Job Responsibilities Perform technical analysis, design, development, and implementation of applications with necessary customization. Participate in the planning and analysis of requirements for system enhancements, translating requirements into well‑architected solutions. Support cross‑system and related integrations across the Sales Planning Domain. Troubleshoot and fix defects for planned releases and production issues. Research and find opportunities to utilize AWS best practices and guidelines to improve system productivity, scaling, and monitoring. Basic Qualifications 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience. 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems. Experience programming with at least one software programming language. Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
