Heartland Credit Union is looking for a full-time Software Developer to work at our Support Center branch in Hutchinson. If you are passionate about technology and software building, then this is for you.

HCU has many locations in Kansas including Wichita, Hutchinson, Newton, Haven, Hays, and Ness City. After an introductory period there may be potential for a hybrid option.

SCHEDULE

Monday - Friday (flexible office hours) with some evenings, weekends, and on-call required.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF A SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

  • Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of various systems to support the credit union and meet the needs of our growing organization.
  • Collaborates with project groups to determine needed functionality and development solutions of future systems.
  • Assists in flow charting and diagramming processes and provides documentation of programming activities as needed.
  • Develops assigned features and sections of systems. Designs code to be easy to read and adjust, and reusable in future systems.
  • Checks functionality of programming code and ensures that assigned sections are completely bug free.
  • Makes recommendations to increase efficiency in project development, supports team members, and ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Ensures all code work is properly documented and coding policies and procedures are properly applied to related projects.
  • Serves credit union team members promptly and professionally.
  • Attends meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Provides superior service to members and staff.
  • Pro-actively support and advance HCU's brand platform.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS FOR A SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

  • High school graduate or equivalent with two years of additional computer training or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • One to three years of related programming experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of .Net, API, Python, Git, web-services, mobile application development is a plus. Experience with database administration, including design, installation, configuration, management, and optimization.
  • Experience with SQL, HTML/JavaScript/CSS, PHP, and Linux servers preferred.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to assist others and support others. Well-organized and attentive to detail.
  • Able to meet deadlines and manage projects. Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Well organized and attentive to detail.
  • Able to operate related computer applications and PC.
  • Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Flexible and open to change
  • Sedentary work; stationary most of the time.
