We are seeking aSoftware Developer to support data production and dissemination activities by developing, maintaining, and modernizing applications and data systems used to process survey response data and metadata. This role supports data product releases through programming, database management, reporting, and continuous improvement of data production platforms.
General Duties:
- Application & Code Development: Develop, maintain, and enhance programming code to process survey response data and metadata in support of data production workflows.
- Metadata Management Systems: Use programming languages and relational databases to develop and maintain applications that support metadata loading, editing, and management.
- Data Product & Reporting Support: Utilize programming and business intelligence tools to generate documents, reports, and outputs supporting data product releases.
- Data Production Modernization: Enhance and modernize existing data production processes by migrating legacy code, experimenting with new platforms, and adopting innovative tools and technologies.
- ETL & Data Integration: Design and support processes to integrate, transform, and manage data across systems and applications.
- System Integration: Support integration of applications with SAS environments and other analytic systems used for survey data processing.
- Technical Support: Perform other information technology and data management tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Minimum of four (4) years of college-level education in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or a related field.
- Application & Programming Skills: Experience developing and maintaining applications using languages and tools such as C#, ASP.NET, Visual Studio, and/or Python.
- Database & BI Technologies: Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and related Business Intelligence tools, including SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS, for data integration, analysis, and reporting.
- ETL & Data Engineering: Experience designing and supporting ETL processes to integrate, transform, and manage survey data and metadata.
- Metadata & Reporting Support: Ability to manage metadata within relational databases and generate reports, dashboards, and structured outputs for data product releases.
- Systems Integration & SAS Interface: Understanding of integrating applications with SAS environments and other analytic systems used for survey data processing.
- Collaboration & Modernization: Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams while supporting modernization efforts, including legacy code migration and adoption of new platforms and tools.
