Software Developer (Java/SQL)

Position: Software Developer (Java/SQL) Location: Grand Rapids, MI - No Travel (Hybrid) - (once up to speed hybrid with in office Monday, Tuesday, Thursday; Wednesday and Friday are remote) ⏳ Duration: 6 months but will likely be extended, has at least a year of work with this customer and more with other customers if needed Client : TGW x3 Overview of Team and Project: The team is focused on developing and enhancing software solutions using Java as the primary language, with occasional use of C# . Work involves interacting with an Oracle database , requiring solid SQL experience . Development follows Agile methodology , with customer releases every sprint . May participate in testing efforts; however, developers will not test their own code. Test cases will be pre-written. Why is this position open? To augment the existing team and support ongoing development needs. Scope of Work / Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Write and maintain code primarily in Java (and occasionally C#). Develop and execute SQL queries to interact with Oracle or other relational databases. Collaborate with the team to deliver features within sprint cycles. Participate in Agile ceremonies and ensure timely delivery of assigned tasks. Work independently on assigned modules, asking the right questions and completing work efficiently. Key Requirements: Java and SQL expertise are critical . Familiarity with Oracle is preferred, but open to experience with other relational databases. Ability to write queries to retrieve and manipulate data as needed. Mid to Senior level : Minimum 5 years of experience . Must be self-sufficient, able to take ownership of tasks, and deliver with minimal direction. Material handling or industrial machinery knowledge is a plus. Additional Details: No strict degree requirement; equivalent experience is acceptable.
