Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition – Frisco, TX, USA The mission of Speechify is to make sure that reading is never a barrier to learning. Over 50 million people use Speechify’s text-to-speech products to turn PDFs, books, Google Docs, news articles, and websites into audio, enabling faster and deeper learning. Overview We’re building a high‑quality, petabyte‑scale dataset pipeline to train speech‑to‑text models. The role owns end‑to‑end data collection, ingestion, and infrastructure on GCP using Terraform. What You’ll Do Discover and acquire new audio sources, integrating them into the ingestion pipeline Operate and extend cloud infrastructure, ensuring reliability, cost, and performance Collaborate with data scientists to optimize cost/throughput/quality and deliver richer datasets for next‑generation models Partner with the AI team and leadership to define the dataset roadmap for consumer and enterprise products An Ideal Candidate Should Have BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related field 5+ years of industry experience in software development Proficiency with Bash/Python scripting in Linux environments Experience with Docker, infrastructure‑as‑code, and at least one major cloud provider (GCP) Experience with web crawlers or large‑scale data processing (plus) Ability to juggle multiple priorities and adapt to change Strong written and verbal communication skills What We Offer A fast‑growing environment where you shape product and company culture An entrepreneurial team supportive of risk and innovation A hands‑off management style that lets you focus on high‑impact work A chance to impact millions of people with learning differences Competitive salary, equity, and benefits in a leading AI‑audio sector Compensation United States base salary range: $140,000‑$200,000, plus bonus and equity, commensurate with experience.
