The Software Engineer II - AI Solutions will design, build, and deploy AI-driven capabilities within complex healthcare environments. In this role, you will work alongside senior engineers, clinicians, and operational teams to translate real-world problems into secure, scalable, and maintainable software. This role will help implement AI/programmatic assisted workflows, assist in cloud platform maintenance, and integrate AI models into production systems that support critical healthcare operations. It is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of hands‑on engineering, problem solving in the field, and collaborating directly with end users to deliver high-impact solutions. Key Responsibilities Work hands-on with clinicians, analysts, and operational teams to understand workflows, gather requirements, and translate ambiguous real‑world problems into concrete technical solutions, iterating quickly based on user feedback. Develop and implement AI/ML solutions for operational and clinical customers, guided by senior engineers. Support compliance efforts by following HIPAA, GDPR, and healthcare standards (HL7, FHIR, DICOM). Design and implement comprehensive test suites to assess the performance of deployed machine learning applications. Ensure reliability, performance, and operational continuity of AI platforms, including monitoring system health, managing and resolving integration issues, maintaining secure access controls, proactively identifying bottlenecks, optimizing resource usage, and implementing improvements to keep mission‑critical workflows running smoothly with minimal downtime. Participate in code reviews and team discussions to improve development best practices. Stay updated on healthcare AI trends and emerging technologies. Design and implement AI‑driven capabilities that solve operational problems, building inference pipelines, integrating models, developing interfaces, ensuring reliability, observability, and maintainability. Develop scalable, modular software architectures that integrate ML models into healthcare systems. Collaborate closely with senior engineers, product managers, and healthcare professionals to align AI solutions with clinical workflows and IT needs. Troubleshoot and resolve software errors, performance bottlenecks, and security vulnerabilities to ensure high availability. Recommend improvements in AI development strategies based on research of emerging technologies, frameworks, and integration patterns. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in AI/ML or backend development, ideally within healthcare or regulated industries. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript. Experience with machine learning tools such as PyTorch, Tensorflow, LangChain, or Keras. Hands‑on experience designing and maintaining scalable architectures. Basic understanding of healthcare standards (HL7, FHIR, DICOM) and data privacy regulations (HIPAA, GDPR). Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases for healthcare data storage and retrieval. Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud, Palantir, Databricks). Experience with Palantir/Oracle Cloud platform is a plus. Familiarity with observability tools such as Grafana, Datadog, or Langfuse. Knowledge of microservices architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Familiarity with large language models, and experience deploying them in production. Experience in CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and automated deployment strategies. Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to troubleshoot software and cloud platform‑level issues. Strong communication skills to collaborate across teams.
