Software Engineer (L4) - Cloud Infrastructure & Security

Job Summary Apple Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer (L4) specializing in Cloud Infrastructure & Security to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and high-performance cloud systems that support Apples global products and services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust security protocols, optimize infrastructure efficiency, and drive innovation in cloud computing. This position is ideal for a proactive engineer passionate about technology, security, and the seamless integration of large-scale cloud systems. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain secure cloud-based infrastructure for Apple services and products. Implement security best practices, including encryption, access controls, and threat detection mechanisms. Collaborate with product, operations, and security teams to ensure cloud systems meet performance, reliability, and compliance standards. Develop automation tools to streamline deployment, monitoring, and incident response in cloud environments. Participate in code and architecture reviews, providing expertise on security and performance optimizations. Investigate and resolve complex infrastructure and security issues, including vulnerability assessments and risk mitigation strategies. Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in cloud computing, infrastructure management, and cybersecurity. Required Skills and Qualifications Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, Java, or C++ . Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, or Apples internal cloud services). Hands‑on experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration tools . Solid knowledge of network security, cryptography, and access control mechanisms . Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible) . Excellent problem‑solving skills with the ability to analyze complex systems and implement secure solutions. Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, etc.). Experience Minimum of 5+ years of software engineering experience , with at least 2–3 years focused on cloud infrastructure and security. Proven track record of developing and deploying secure, scalable cloud applications . Experience in a fast‑paced, large‑scale technology environment is preferred. Working Hours Full‑time role with flexible working hours. Occasional on‑call support may be required for critical infrastructure incidents. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud architecture . Ability to design, implement, and enforce security policies across cloud services. Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with global teams.
