MicroHealth is seeking a Software Engineer to support our client in Orlando, FL.

(Travel is required to CONUS/OCONUS sites)

Eligibility for Secret Clearance is required!

The Software Engineer responsibilities include software design, integration, maintenance, updates/upgrades, test and verification for all systems and subsystems within the Medical Simulation portfolio. The Software Engineer is expected to be able to apply industry best practices to a problem space to develop an optimal solution in new or existing codebases.

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Conduct development, testing, and build management using Atlassian development environment
  • Conduct fielded system software audits
  • Make targeted modifications to existing software applications as well as develop new components and systems as requirements dictate.
  • Define work in both requirements and industry-standard methods.
  • Performs unit tests of their work and adhere to applicable coding standards.
  • Leverages internal reuse and Free Open Source Software (FOSS) to the extent allowed to minimize cost and maximize productivity.
  • Maintains a schedule related to assigned task status and completion dates.
  • Responsible for supporting the installation, configuration, design, development, maintenance, and documentation of software applications.
  • Responsible for establishing, conducting, and documenting software testing based on customer requirements.
  • Works on the overall design and development of software products as well as software applications.
  • Conduct analysis of software tools for acquisition and integration
  • Support HW/SW integration
  • Support field installation and upgrades
  • Create logical and functional software code in a variety of languages.
  • Provide technical and integration support in the construction of multiple fielded systems
  • Lead product trouble ticket response efforts for troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Executes additional tasks assigned by the Project Manager.
Position Requirements:
  • Secret Clearance eligibility required.
  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field of study, such as computer science, programming, or information systems.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a related field of software development or engineering
  • Knowledge and experience with Windows software development, WiX Installer, and REST APIs preferably using JAVA EE and C#, Jboss, Bootstrap, and Angular.
  • Experience with modern software tools such as Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, Jama and other Atlassian tools
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Experience coding in Visual Studio
  • Must have experience in understanding and articulating the benefits and risks associated with different coding languages in different functional environments.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and DevSecOps is preferred
  • Experience with programming large systems.
  • Knowledge of the software development life-cycle.
  • Experience with Architecture & Product Development of imaging/graphics solutions for user facing natural interfaces is a plus.
  • Experience in simulation development.
Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee may lift or move objects up to 5 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
