JOB TITLE: Software Engineer
LOCATION: Owego, NY (Telework < 50%)
PAY RATE: $50-80/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Qualifying Questions:

Summary:

• Attend project Kick-off and Baseline Review meetings

  • Align on baseline artifacts, tools, and environment

  • Review software requirements, design, and architecture documents

• Create, execute, and report unit, integration, and system-level test cases

  • Perform both structural and functional testing

• Conduct static analysis, code reviews, and compliance checks

  • Configure static analysis tools, unit test frameworks, and CI pipelines

• Perform traceability analysis (requirements design code test)

  • Populate and verify bi-directional links in DOORS

• Generate verification artifacts, including:

  • Test procedures, test reports, defect logs, certification evidence

  • Test cases incorporating boundary, stress, and fault-injection scenarios

  • Prioritize, assign, and verify defect closure; track root cause

  • Execute nightly test runs, capture logs, maintain defect database, and issue weekly status reports

Requirements:

• Ability to obtain security clearance

• 2 4 years experience in embedded software development

• Proficiency in C programming

• Experience with DOORS for requirements traceability (1 2 years)

• Software testing and fault-injection experience (2 4 years)

• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

• Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
