Overview The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is the non‑profit, applied research division of the Georgia Institute of Technology, supporting more than 2,900 employees and over 20 laboratories. It conducts more than $940 million in research annually for government and industry, solving complex problems for the U.S. federal government, state, and industry. Job Description The Applied Systems Laboratory (ASL) Systems Integration Division (SID) supports systems integration, system design, and product development for the Department of Defense (DoD). SID researches military systems focused on avionics, electronic warfare, autonomous systems, intelligence systems, tactical communication/datalink systems, and live, virtual, constructive training solutions. Role Seeking Co‑Op students for the Fall 2026 semester under the guidance of GTRI researchers. Responsibilities include: Creation of software requirements Design of software components Implementation of embedded software Integration and testing of embedded software Creation of software technical data packages Required Minimum Qualifications Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computational Science & Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA Eligible to participate in a co‑op program and to register for co‑op credit during work terms. Ability to complete at least three full‑time co‑op terms alternating with full‑time school before graduation. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Python Familiarity with Atlassian tools Familiarity with Cameo System Modeling tools Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas to a non‑technical audience Strong math skills and ability to learn complex engineering concepts Other Requirements Hours per week: 40. U.S. citizenship required. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance. Housing and relocation assistance not available.
