Software Engineering Team Lead

We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Lead to help elevate the engineering organization at an innovative design company. As Head of Engineering, I’m focused on building a high-performing culture rooted in quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement—and I’m looking for strong leaders to help make that happen.This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll work closely with your team, contributing code, reviewing pull requests, and solving technical challenges while also developing people and driving performance. You’ll balance technical contribution with leadership—this is not a role where you step away from the keyboard.You’ll have direct company-level impact, partnering with the Head of Engineering to grow engineers, implement best practices, and lead the team through meaningful growth and change.What You’ll DoLead and manage a team of 5–8 engineers, providing technical direction and career developmentBalance hands-on technical contribution with people leadership and team growthPartner with the Head of Engineering to implement and drive engineering transformation initiativesHelp define the engineering roadmap, including how AI can enhance products and internal processesFoster a culture of candid feedback, accountability, and continuous learningCollaborate with product and engineering leaders to deliver high-quality solutionsEstablish and reinforce engineering standards, best practices, and processesCoach team members to elevate their technical skills and professional impactContribute to hiring and scaling the engineering organizationWhat We’re Looking ForExperience working in an agency or consulting environment, with an understanding of client delivery, shifting priorities, and managing multiple projects7+ years of software engineering experience with strong technical depth2+ years of direct people management experience leading engineering teamsProven track record of improving team performance and developing engineering talentStrong communication skills and comfort giving and receiving candid feedbackExperience balancing technical contribution with people management responsibilitiesComfortable working in a hybrid setup in Antwerp, BelgiumOur Technical EnvironmentThe engineering team builds across mobile and web platforms, using native mobile technologies (Swift, Kotlin, KMP), React, React Native, and multiple backend technologies.
