Job Title : Software QA Engineer and Tester

Job Duties:

1. Test Planning & Strategy

Define overall testing strategy and approach for projects (manual, automation, performance, security testing).

Prepare detailed test plans including scope, timelines, resources, and risk management.

Establish entry and exit criteria for testing phases.

Recommend appropriate testing tools and frameworks.

2. Team Leadership & Mentorship

Lead, manage, and mentor the testing team, including QA Engineers and Testers.

Assign tasks based on team skills and project priorities.

Monitor team performance and ensure deliverables meet quality standards.

Conduct regular team meetings, reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions.

3. Test Design & Execution Oversight

Review and approve test cases, test scripts, and test data.

Ensure coverage across functional, regression, integration, and system testing.

Oversee execution of tests and validate results against requirements.

Facilitate defect triage and resolution with developers and stakeholders.

4. Quality & Process Management

Implement QA best practices and ensure compliance with organizational standards.

Monitor key quality metrics and provide reports to management.

Identify process gaps and recommend improvements in testing workflows.

Promote automation to improve efficiency and accuracy where applicable.

5. Stakeholder Communication

Act as the main point of contact for all testing-related updates.

Report testing progress, risks, issues, and overall product quality to project managers and clients.

Provide recommendations for release readiness and risk mitigation.

6. Risk & Defect Management

Prioritize defects based on severity and business impact.

Ensure timely logging, tracking, and closure of defects.

Conduct risk assessments and suggest preventive measures to avoid critical issues.
