The Software QA Tester II creates, maintains and adds to the test framework. This position focuses on testing the product to find bugs and improving the processes to prevent defects through manual and automated testing. In addition, this position is responsible for quality, along with the entire delivery team. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Works effectively to define testable user stories, especially acceptance criteria with Product Owners and stakeholders. Evaluates and reports test results, test progress and product quality. Acquires information from BA/QA Analysts and Product Owners (rather than relying entirely on written specifications). Contributes to design, development and maintenance of automation test suites. Works closely with developers to solve problems and improve test strategies. Responds to change quickly, including changing, adding or improving test cases. Provides a positive and solution-oriented approach with team members and stakeholders. Is a resource for onboarding new team members. Utilizes critical, quality-oriented, skeptical thinking about the product. Ensures proper use of testing tools and looks for ways to improve processes. EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. EXPERIENCE: Experience with test framework and automation testing tools used by the team (or similar at another company). COMPETENCIES - SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES: Strong technical competency. Ability to communicate with clients, colleagues and management to explain complex issues clearly and concisely.
