This role will be responsible for driving quality across all products by executing thorough manual testing, validating API-driven behavior, and partnering closely with engineering, product, and design teams. While this position is not tied to a specific domain or product, experience testing modern JavaScript-based web applications and backend APIs is essential.Key Responsibilities• Execute manual testing across multiple SaaS products, including functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing.• Validate API-driven functionality, including request/response payloads, data integrity, error handling, and edge cases.• Analyze product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to create clear and effective test scenarios.• Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps, expected results, and supporting evidence.• Perform end-to-end testing of complex user workflows spanning UI, APIs, and backend logic.• Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and designers to clarify requirements and prevent defects early.• Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release validation from a QA perspective.• Perform cross-browser and cross-device testing for modern web applications.• Support release readiness by validating fixes, verifying regressions, and signing off on production deployments.• Advocate for quality best practices and help standardize manual QA processes across teams and products.Required Qualifications•5+ years of experience as a QA Engineer, with a strong focus on manual testing of SaaS or web-based applications.•Validate API driven functionality, including REST and GraphQL APIs, by testing queries, mutations, response structures, error handling, and data integrity.•Solid understanding of software testing principles, QA methodologies, and defect lifecycle management.•Hands-on experience testing applications built with JavaScript-based frontends and modern web technologies.•Ability to read, understand, and reason about JavaScript code to support testing and debugging efforts.•Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and collaborating within cross-functional teams.•Proficiency using bug tracking and project management tools (e.g., Gitlab, Jira, Asana).•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.•Clear verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to document issues precisely and concisely.•Performing manual frontend testing while capturing screen recordings with clear narration to document user flows, edge cases, and defects for reproducibility and knowledge sharing•Producing structured test documentation and defect reports derived from recorded test sessions, leveraging AI tools to support regression testing, onboarding, and continuous improvementNice to Haves• Exposure to automated testing tools or frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, or similar).• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and release workflows.• Experience testing mobile-responsive web applications or native mobile apps (iOS/Android).• Knowledge of cloud-based platforms such as AWS.• Experience working in distributed or nearshore engineering teams.Why Work with Sonatafy?At Sonatafy, you'll join a community of highly skilled engineers across Latin America supporting innovative U.S.-based teams.
