Job Title: Software Quality Assurance (SQA) (Mid-Level) Location: [Kolkata] Department: Software Quality Assurance Employment Type: Full-time Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Mid-Level Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in manual and basic automation testing, with a strong understanding of QA processes, test documentation, and defect management. This role involves ensuring that software applications meet defined requirements and quality standards through systematic and efficient testing practices. Key Responsibilities: Analyse business requirements, functional specifications, and design documents to develop comprehensive test Scenarios, test cases, and test data. Execute functional, integration, regression, and system testing across various platforms (web, mobile, and API). Identify, document, and track software defects using issue tracking tools such as ADO, JIRA, Mantis, or equivalent. Collaborate with developers and business analysts to ensure issues are clearly understood and resolved. Conduct retesting and sanity testing after fixes or new deployments. Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives. Ensure all testing activities are carried out as per defined SQA standards and processes. Maintain detailed testing documentation, including test execution reports, defect logs, and traceability matrices. Support test automation initiatives, Write Automation test Scripts and maintain automation scripts. Drive test automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium, JMeter, Postman, or Cypress. Provide feedback for continuous improvement of QA processes and tools. Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree / B.tech in computer science, Information Technology, or related discipline. 3–6 years of hands-on experience in software testing (manual and/or automation). Must have the ability to think and identify possible test scenarios. In-depth knowledge of STLC, SDLC, and defect life cycle. Experience with any test management tools. Working knowledge of SQL for backend data validation. Exposure to API testing using tools like Postman or Swagger. Familiarity with browser developer tools for UI validation and debugging. Good understanding of Agile development environments. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Skills (Good to Have): Experience in automation testing using tools like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright. Basic knowledge of CI/CD processes and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
