Job Description Job #219087 Chipton-Ross is seeking a Software Quality Engineer 4 for a contract opportunity in Colorado Springs, CO. 100% onsite BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE) Regular and predictable attendance is required. Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry 3+ years' experience working in a project where various software development methodologies are being utilized. 3+ years' experience in a Software Quality role. 3+ years' experience working independently to develop, modify and document actions to assure problem resolution and/or to implement corrective action and/or preventive action. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES As a member of this Software Quality team, you have the autonomy and responsibility to work with programs to assure the required processes are used for developing, controlling, and verifying software products, whether developed by Client or provided by suppliers. The successful candidate for this position will have a broad background in software development practices, tools and processes combined with a passion for advocating First Time Quality strategies. Experience and knowledge of quality standards (e.g. AS9100 / AS9115) is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will be a team player, self-motivated, and able to quickly learn the responsibilities of the position. Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills, are crucial for success. Candidates should possess resilience and the ability to provide and receive constructive feedback. The ideal team member will also demonstrate the capacity to assertively communicate their boundaries while fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment. Defines and maintains program-level software quality engineering processes, resources, and infrastructure. Actively participates in program activities, from initial proposal and planning to verification/certification and delivery. Performs process and product audits to verify software lifecycle activities and products comply with approved software processes, plans, and standards. Supports program milestone and formal review meetings, occasionally preparing and presenting information. Participates in configuration management activities. Plans software quality test activities and completion of test readiness activities. Ensures integrity of the test process and verifies test results. Works with regulatory agencies and other functions to develop criteria and procedures for software delivery activities. Performs final reconciliation of software data products. Identifies process or product non-compliances; supports root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions and other defect investigation/prevention activities. Teams with equipment managers of supplier products to monitor and evaluate supplier software development performance. Acts as an independent set of eyes and ears for Program Managers and the customer, highlighting potential best practices on the team, as well as areas for improvement. Supports the identification and analysis of program/project software quality metrics to improve software quality and manage risk. Work statement is a non-managerial role, non-leadership role. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE) Experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS) auditing. Software Quality Engineering experience supporting software with AS9115, DO-178, and/or MIL-STD-882E requirements. Experience with the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) is highly preferred. Experience with configuration management and collaboration tools such as (or similar to) Git, Jira, Collaborator, Bitbucket and Beyond Compare. Software development experience in a collaborative team environment using agile principles and a structured development process including code reviews and automated DevOps processes/tools. REQUIRED EDUCATION Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry 3+ years' experience working in a project where various software development methodologies are being utilized.
