Job description Client is helping our client find detail-oriented Software Release Engineer to join its team. In this role, you'll support the software release process by validating software through hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and simulation testing before deployment to vehicles. You'll work closely with engineering and vehicle operations teams to evaluate software quality, investigate regressions, and help ensure safe, reliable software releases. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with complex testing environments, simulation tools, and cross-functional engineering teams. As a Software Release Engineer, you will: Execute hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and simulation testing to validate software releases before in-vehicle testing. Support the development, curation, and evaluation of HIL driving scenarios, with an emphasis on night-run scenarios used to validate software releases. Provide technical support for vehicle-based validation testing to facilitate the rollout of pre-release software into new operational design domains (ODDs) and public roadways. Maintain and improve the HIL testing pipeline to support software release activities. Ensure release testing is completed successfully, review test results for accuracy, and coordinate with vehicle operations teams to support on-road testing. Identify software regressions against established thresholds and support regression investigations. Communicate testing results, failures, risks, and delays to cross-functional stakeholders. Travel domestically as needed. Ideal candidate profile Nice to have: Experience with Simulation tools like Foxglove Studio, SUMO or similar tools Experience with ASPICE. Python programming skills. Daily tasks Run and execute hardware in the loop and simulation tests to grade software releases before running in-vehicle tests. (15%) Support the curation and evaluation of hardware in the loop "driving scenarios" especially night runs, that can be used to test software releases. (40%) Provide technical assistance for vehicle-based validation testing (these tests facilitate the rollout of non-release, nearly finished software to new ODDs or public roadways).(15%) Provide ongoing maintenance and technical updates for the hardware in the loop testing pipeline on behalf of the release team. (15%) Release Operations Support: (15%). Ensure completion of release testing, check the results for correctness and align with vehicle operation teams for on road testing. Identify regressions against codified thresholds. Support regression investigations and / or ensure completion of investigations. Communicate and escalate testing failures or delays. Required skills Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field highly preferred. 3+ years of relevant work experience. Proven track record of HIL bench or simulation testing experience. Analyze complex streams of information (logs, video files, sensor data) to triage and identify issues detected during autonomous vehicle drives. Ability to operate effectively across multiple teams, and navigate technical ambiguity within his assigned tasks. Experience with GIT. Some travel may be required.
