Software Test Engineer - EmbeddedTowcester (On-site)Competitive PackageEligibility for SC Clearance is essentialAn established engineering organisation is seeking a Software Test Engineer - Embedded to join its Test Systems Design team. This is an on-site role in Towcester, based at a facility recognised as an NI Centre of Excellence.You will develop and maintain high-quality embedded test software and automated test solutions, deployed across manufacturing and product validation environments. The company designs ruggedised embedded computing solutions built around the latest Intel, Freescale and ARM technologies.Working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, you’ll be exposed to all stages of design, testing and validation, with a strong culture of continuous improvement, innovation and professional development.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain automated test sequences, embedded software, firmware and scripts to validate products from development through to manufacturingCollaborate closely with Production to validate and deploy test solutions in the manufacturing environmentProvide direct production support to maintain existing test solutions and ensure on-time customer deliveryCommunicate technical progress and status to key stakeholders clearly and professionallyProduce internal documentation in line with engineering procedures and quality standardsDesired Qualifications & ExperienceStrong understanding of C programmingExperience writing test software at the hardware or device driver levelGood understanding of DOS executablesSolid working knowledge of LinuxAwareness of NI tools such as LabVIEW and TestStand would be advantageousExperience with scripting languages such as Python and/or bashUnderstanding of JTAG technologies and boundary scan for PCB validationUnderstanding of Ethernet-based network communication protocolsAwareness of computer architectures and hardware designStrong problem-solving skills with a methodical, solution-oriented approachExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work effectively in a collaborative team environmentSecurity ClearanceEligibility for SC Clearance is essentialBenefitsCompetitive pension scheme25 days annual leaveHealth and Life AssuranceEmployee Assistance ProgrammeCycle2Work schemeEmployee discountsInterested?For more information or to apply confidentially, please contact:Lewis PhillipsVerso Recruitmentlphillips@versorecruitment.com01582 369359
