The PositionAs part of our continued growth, we are looking for a Software Test Engineer to join our team in Hengelo!About the RoleAs a Software Test Engineer, you will contribute to one of the most ambitious defence projects currently in development: the F126 frigates for the German Navy.You will be involved in the testing and validation of advanced Fire Control software solutions within an Agile/Scrum environment, supporting the full software development lifecycle from requirements analysis to validation and product demonstrations. Working in multidisciplinary self-organizing teams, you will help ensure the reliability and quality of mission-critical naval defence systems.Your main tasks will include:Prepare and execute software tests according to the defined IVVQ strategyValidate software solutions and components within Agile/Scrum teamsIdentify, document, and follow up on software defectsManage and maintain test platforms and testing data environmentsSupport software validation and quality assurance activities throughout development cyclesCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams on requirements, design, testing, and validationContribute to continuous improvement of testing methodologies and QA processesParticipate in product demonstrations and validation activitiesYour ProfileHolds at least a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or similarHas 5+ years of experience in Software Testing / QA EngineeringHands-on experience testing both C++ and Java software applicationsExperience working in Agile/Scrum development environmentsKnowledge of Linux development/testing environmentsExperience with CI/CD tools and modern development pipelinesFamiliar with Jenkins, Maven, Git, Bitbucket, and ArtifactoryKnowledge of Unit Testing and Test Automation tools such as JUnit and CucumberAble and willing to deep dive into low-level technical details (bit/byte-level)Willing to travel to Romania multiple times per yearAvailable to work onsite in Hengelo at least 3 days per weekStrong communication skills in EnglishWorking ConditionsYou get a lease car with a fuel cardPossibility of hybrid workingMonthly net expense allowance27 vacation days with the possibility to purchase 10 extra vacation daysPension scheme without personal contributionWhat we offerAccess to exciting projects in key sectors: Defence, Transport, Telecom, FinanceA diverse client base: Collaborations with both large corporations and smaller players across the NetherlandsA real career development plan: Continuous training, coaching, daily knowledge sharingAn innovative and collaborative environmentAbout ALTENALTEN is a world leader in engineering and technology consulting, with over 57,700 employees in more than 30 countries.
