*Must hold British Citizenship for this role*Software Test EngineerThis is an exciting opportunity to work in an advanced engineering environment, contributing to a range of fast-moving and complex projects. You’ll be involved across the full product lifecycle, from early concept and development through to integration, testing, and end-user delivery.Working as part of a specialist validation team, you will take ownership of the full software testing lifecycle across simulation-based systems. This includes planning test activities, executing testing, analysing results, and producing clear technical reports to support delivery and performance assurance.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, design, and execute end-to-end software testing and verification activities across the full development lifecycleDevelop test plans, test cases, and test environments based on system requirements and architectureConduct functional and integration testing within simulation or emulation environmentsInvestigate and resolve software defects, anomalies, and emergent behavioursAnalyse test data and system logs to validate performance and ensure compliance with requirementsProduce clear technical reports and certification evidence to support product releaseCollaborate with software, systems, and integration teams to support development, trials, and demonstrationsSupport software releases and continuous integration pipelines through structured testing and validation Key Skills & ExperienceExperience in software testing, verification & validation (V&V), or systems provingStrong Python scripting skills for testing, automation, or data analysisFamiliarity with CI/CD tools and workflows (e.g. Git, Jenkins)Experience working with Agile/Scrum development environmentsAbility to analyse complex datasets and system logsUnderstanding of testing complex systems or simulationsKnowledge of tools such as JIRA, DOORS, or similar requirements/test management toolsISTQB certification (or similar) is desirable Ideal CandidateDetail-oriented with a methodical and analytical approachStrong problem-solving mindset with the ability to investigate complex issuesComfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environmentPassionate about quality, testing, and system performanceSalary up to £50,000 + bonus + benefitsHybrid working in Hertfordshire*Must hold British Citizenship for this role*
