Complete Description:
We are seeking a seasoned SolarWinds Engineer to lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive monitoring strategy across client's technology infrastructure. This role is critical to ensuring real-time visibility, operational uptime, and safety. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SolarWinds platform engineering and a strong understanding of performance monitoring in high-availability environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect, deploy, and optimize SolarWinds modules (NPM, SAM, NTA, DPA) and LogicMonitor platforms across transit systems.
  • Develop custom dashboards, alerts, and reports aligned with operational KPIs and SLA thresholds using both SolarWinds and LogicMonitor.
  • Integrate SolarWinds with cloud platforms, enterprise systems, and third-party tools for unified observability.
  • Partner with application owners to provide both out-of-the-box and custom monitoring solutions.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, cloud, and operations teams to ensure resilient monitoring coverage.
  • Maintain and enhance monitoring for infrastructure operations.
  • Document architecture, workflows, and escalation protocols for internal and vendor stakeholders.

Required Qualifications & Technical Skills:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with SolarWinds in enterprise or public sector environments.
  • 3+ years of experience deploying and managing LogicMonitor in hybrid or cloud environments.
  • Strong command of SNMP, WMI, NetFlow, and database polling techniques.
  • Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Python) for automation and custom integrations.
  • Experience with hybrid environments (on-prem/cloud), especially with Azure or AWS.
  • Familiarity with database queries for custom database monitoring.
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices and incident response workflows.

Preferred Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience in critical infrastructure domains.
  • SolarWinds Certified Professional (SCP) or equivalent certifications.
  • LogicMonitor Certified Associate or Professional certification is a plus.
  • Experience with Orion SDK and API-based data extraction.

Soft Skills & Culture Fit:

  • Methodical problem-solver with a bias for action and accountability.
  • Strong communicator, able to translate technical insights for both executive and operational audiences.
  • Collaborative mindset with a passion for public service and infrastructure resilience.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent technical experience).
