Jobcon Logo Job Description :

Caelux is a pioneering leader in the field of perovskite solar cell technology, committed to revolutionizing the renewable energy sector with cutting-edge innovations. We are at the forefront of developing full-scale, high-efficiency, cost-effective solar solutions and are looking for an experienced Solution Deposition Process Engineer to elevate our processes. The size of the solar-generation market has grown 15X in the last decade and shows no signs of slowing down. The global solar power market is now over $200B/year and accounts for 50% of new electricity-generating capacity additions in the USA. Solar-generated electricity is now cheaper than that generated by coal or oil.

Job Functions

Caelux’s process depends critically on the uniform deposition of thin films of liquid solutions that are rapidly dried to form perovskite crystals.  In this role, you will be the engineer driving translation of liquid solution deposition and drying processes from Caelux’s R&D lab into its fabrication production floor (both located at our Baldwin Park facility).

You will be responsible for:

•      Developing and optimizing new solution-deposition, drying, and annealing processes to improve the performance of the western hemisphere’s largest “solution-printed” solar cells.

•      Performing data analysis and providing feedback for device/module process-engineering iterations.

•      Maintaining baseline recipes and developing quality control plans including statistical process control.

•      Developing Standard Operating Procedures, and training operators to run deposition tools and processes effectively.

•      Co-developing engineering packages for the acquisition, development, installation, and bring-up of new tools. This includes requirements documents and RFQs, vendor technical capability assessments, factory and site acceptance testing, installation, spares planning, energy control plans, and maintenance SOPs.

•      Designing Process Quality Control plans (including statistical process control) that enable the factory to run the process with high yield.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

·       Strong understanding of the physics of liquid film printing and fluid handling.

·       Knowledge of characterization methods of thin films.  This may include methods such as transmittance/reflectance, optical profilometry, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction.

·       MS in mechanical or chemical engineering, or related field with strong experience in microscale fluid mechanics.   Exceptionally strong or experienced candidates with a BS degree will be considered with minimum 4 years practical experience in process development using solution-deposition or printing equipment.

·       Basic knowledge of statistical data analysis

Additional knowledge and skills that will serve the successful applicant well in this role:

•      Knowledge of solar, LED or other semiconductor products.

•      Experience working with production-scale printing or liquid solution film-deposition tools.

•      Understanding of statistical process control, and Design of Experiments.

•      PhD-level understanding of microscale fluid mechanics, including dynamics of solutions during rapid drying and evaporation

Benefits

Benefits:

•      Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses

•      Comprehensive health and wellness benefits

•      Retirement plan and company match

•      Stock options

•      Opportunities for professional development and growth

Collaborative and innovative work environment
