Sonography Echo Tech Apply
Job Summary:
1. Perform basic to advanced cardiac ultrasound services and procedures such as transthoracic, transesophageal and stress.
2. Prepare equipment and patients, explain procedures and review images.
3. Report findings and analyze patient clinical history to identify the purpose of the examination.
4. Frame the clinical question that the examination intends to answer and expand the examination as necessary.
5. Prepare patients for procedures and obtain clinical history.
6. Perform cardiac ultrasound procedures using various equipment and techniques to obtain high-quality results.
7. Identify and define cardiac abnormalities and extend the scope of the examination appropriately.
8. Assist physicians in procedure rooms and operating rooms by performing echocardiograph studies.
9. Assist in performing transesophageal studies with cardiologist and sterilize probe.
10. Record statistics and perform daily maintenance of the Echocardiography Lab and its equipment.
11. Act as a resource to other staff, physicians and students regarding equipment, techniques, procedures and studies.
12. Work with cardiac sonographer quality coordinator to ensure adherence to quality processes and protocols.
13. Implement protocols as new technology evolves and ensure implementation and adherence to system echocardiography standards.
14. Must have knowledge of complex sonographic principles, instrumentation and techniques.
15. Must have knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
16. Must be able to explain the purpose of the echocardiographic examination to the patient and answer patients' questions.
17. Must have knowledge of proper infection control, including precautionary procedures.
18. Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with healthcare providers.
19. Must have knowledge of medical terminology.
20. Must be skilled in the utilization of computers and medical equipment.

22. Qualifications include graduation from an accredited program or 2 years of relevant work experience.
23. Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.
24. Must have Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Reg Diag Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification at the time of hire or transfer.
