This position leads a team of Supply Chain Planners, ensuring the timely procurement of materials, components, and services at the best value while maintaining the highest quality standards. The role focuses on inventory management, purchase order optimization, supplier management, cost savings, and risk mitigation, to support the company's strategic goals.Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of planners, fostering professional growth and development. Define performance expectations and provide performance feedback. Set team objectives, monitor performance, and provide constructive feedback using department KPI structure. Collaborate with team to define and communicate priorities. Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing across the team and other departments. Participate in cross-functional initiatives focused on cost savings, process optimization, material availability and on time delivery. Act as a resource and center of excellence as it relates to purchasing management.Procurement and Inventory Management: Develop inventory management and reporting tools and processes. Analyze inventory to identify opportunities for buying optimizations. Establish proactive purchasing practices that align with demand forecasts and business objectives. Leverage data analytics to identify purchasing trends, optimize order quantities, and reduce excess or obsolete inventory. Create, or improve, reports to maximize purchasing and inventory visibility. Create dashboards and scorecards for regular reporting and operational reviews. Lead continuous improvement initiatives based on KPI insights and performance gaps. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for purchasing activities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast sourcing costs and manage financial risks. Drive cross-functional process improvements to improve purchase order deliver to stock lead times. Develop contingency plans to ensure supply chain resilience. Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain, including geopolitical, environmental, and market-related risks.Strategic Sourcing: Work closely with Sourcing to develop and implement global sourcing strategies to achieve cost savings and improve operational efficiency. Provide support and lead supplier negotiations, including pricing, contracts and terms to achieve favorable agreements.Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or related. 5+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, in the manufacturing industry, a minimum of 3 years in leadership roles with direct reports. Proven experience managing a team, cross-functional collaboration and driving improvement. Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills. In-depth understanding of global supply chain and purchasing best practices. Proficient in ERP systems, Microsoft suite, Integrated Business Planning tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of international trade laws, customs regulations, and compliance requirements. Willingness to travel to supplier and manufacturing sites.Key Metrics for Success: Supplier performance metrics (on-time delivery, quality standards, etc.). Cost savings. Team development and coworker engagement. Risk mitigation and contingency planning effectiveness. Contribution to company-wide operational efficiency and profitability.Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this Job, the co-worker is regularly required to talk or hear. Co-worker is frequently required to stand and walk. The co-worker is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and climb or balance.Wages: $100,000 - $116,000Benefits include major medical (BCBS), Delta dental and vision, company sponsored basic life insurance and short-term disability.
