About Us: A classic steakhouse experience with a modern twist, offering prime steaks, craft cocktails, and seafood.

Position Overview:We are seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As the second-in-command in our kitchen, the Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to oversee daily operations, ensure the highest quality of food preparation, and maintain a seamless and efficient kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Culinary Excellence:
    • Assist in the preparation and design of all food and drink menus.
    • Produce high-quality plates, both in presentation and taste, ensuring consistency and excellence in every dish.
    • Stay updated with industry trends and introduce innovative dishes that align with our steakhouse concept.
  • Kitchen Operations:
    • Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely manner that meets our quality standards.
    • Fill in for the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation when necessary.
    • Oversee and organize kitchen stock and ingredients.
    • Ensure a first-in, first-out food rotation system and verify all food products are properly dated and organized for quality assurance.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Manage and train kitchen staff, establish working schedules, and assess staff performance.
    • Foster a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior kitchen staff members.
  • Health & Safety:
    • Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards.
    • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen in accordance with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a fine dining steakhouse or similar upscale restaurant.
  • Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Excellent record of kitchen and staff management.
  • Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices.
  • Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS).
  • Culinary school diploma or degree in a related field is a plus.

Skills:

  • Exceptional cooking skills with a focus on steak and seafood preparation.
  • Strong leadership and management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
