Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A licensed Special Education Teacher is needed to support an LLD (Language and Learning Disabilities) program at a school in Amherst, MA. This full-time, contract position runs from ASAP through the end of the school year. The role focuses on serving students with specific learning disabilities and communication impairments, requiring a professional skilled in both instructional leadership and individualized student support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the teacher of record for students in the LLD program.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals and support staff to ensure comprehensive academic and behavioral interventions.
- Provide differentiated instruction tailored to students unique learning needs.
- Maintain strong classroom management and foster an inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Massachusetts Special Education teaching license.
- Proven experience working with students who have learning disabilities and/or communication impairments.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement IEPs.
- Strong skills in instructional planning and classroom management.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Reliable transportation for commuting to the site.
