Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Exciting opportunity for a Special Education Teacher to support elementary students in a dynamic school setting in Creswell, OR, with positions available across Eugene, Lowell, and Corvallis as well. This contract role runs from the current school year through the end of the year with potential for renewal, offering the chance to make a positive impact on students with mild to moderate disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored special education instruction to an elementary caseload of approximately 32 students.
- Deliver both inclusive and pull-out services, adapting teaching approaches to meet individual student needs.
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals who support classroom activities and student learning.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in accordance with district policies.
- Work closely with general education teachers, families, and support staff to ensure student success and compliance with educational standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Oregon Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in Special Education.
- Experience working within elementary special education, ideally with mild to moderate disabilities.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload effectively while differentiating instructional methods.
- Strong collaboration skills with paraeducators, teaching staff, and families.
- Knowledge of relevant state and federal special education laws and best practices.
Work Details:
- Location options include Creswell, Eugene, Lowell, and Corvallis, OR (approximately 50 minutes from the area).
- Full-time commitment with 37.5 hours per week.
