This contract position requires dedication to assisting students with online learning while maintaining a focused and structured environment. The role demands adherence to facility policies, including restrictions on cell phone usage during work hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction in accordance with students IEPs within a juvenile detention setting.
• Facilitate and support students engagement with online learning platforms.
• Collaborate with physical education staff present part-time to support the overall educational experience.
• Maintain a secure and distraction-free learning environment, complying with all facility protocols.
• Adapt instruction and behavior management techniques to meet the unique needs of detained youth.

Qualifications:

• Valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certification.
• Experience in special education, particularly working with students requiring individualized supports.
• Comfort and skill in engaging students through online learning modalities.
• Ability to maintain strict professional boundaries, including compliance with cell phone restrictions.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Work Schedule and Location:

• Location: Juvenile detention center, 3564 Heindel Rd., York, PA 17402.
• Hours: Approximately 7:15 AM to 2:45 PM with a 1-hour unpaid lunch; times may vary slightly.
• Contract position effective immediately through May 29, 2026.
• Workdays include the presence of a physical education teacher three days per week.
