Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity seeks qualified Special Education Teachers for multiple school sites within Lancaster, SC, to support diverse student needs from elementary through high school levels. The contract runs from July 27, 2026, through May 28, 2027, offering a consistent schedule of 35 to 37.5 hours weekly.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering specialized instruction in Special Setting 2 classrooms, focusing on moderate disabilities.
  • Facilitating co-taught resource rooms designed for collaboration with general education teachers.
  • Managing Multi-Categorical self-contained classrooms across middle and high school settings.
  • Adapting teaching strategies to meet the academic and social-emotional needs of students with disabilities.
  • Participating actively in IEP development and implementation to ensure compliance and progress monitoring.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Active South Carolina Special Education Teacher License with Multi-Categorical certification or the required credentials.
  • Experience working in both elementary and secondary special education settings.
  • Ability to engage effectively with students across various age groups; candidates should specify their preferred age group.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work alongside general education teachers and support staff.

Schedule details by education level:

  • Elementary: Five positions (8:30 AM – 3:35 PM)
  • Middle School: Seven positions (7:30 AM – 2:45 PM), including one part-time co-taught resource room (18-20 hours/week)
  • High School: Two positions (8:30 AM – 3:35 PM)

This role is primarily onsite, with virtual options considered closer to the school start date. Candidates should submit a blinded resume, copies of certifications, and indicate their preferred age group for placement. Interview times are available immediately.
