Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A licensed Special Education Teacher is needed to support a Learning Language Disabilities (LLD) program serving students with specific learning disabilities and/or communication impairments. This full-time, contract position is located in Holyoke, MA, with a role focused on providing instructional leadership, implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and collaborating closely with paraprofessionals and support staff to ensure comprehensive academic and behavioral support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the teacher of record for students in the LLD program.
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to individual student needs.
- Provide effective classroom management and instructional planning.
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and other staff to support student progress.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate student progress regularly.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Massachusetts Special Education teaching license.
- Proven experience supporting students with learning disabilities and communication impairments.
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation processes.
- Effective collaboration and team communication skills.
- Ability to manage diverse classroom needs and behavioral challenges.
