Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time special education teaching opportunity is available in the New Orleans, LA area, focusing on 1:1 support for students within Jefferson Parish schools. This contract position runs from ASAP through May 22, 2026, offering a dynamic role for educators passionate about individualized student success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one special education support tailored to the unique needs of assigned students
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and support staff to implement IEP goals effectively
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in alignment with district requirements
  • Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that promotes student growth and development

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active Louisiana Department of Education Special Education Certification is required (current and valid)
  • Experience working with special education students, preferably in 1:1 settings
  • Ability to comply with district-mandated drug screening and fingerprinting procedures
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, families, and educational teams

Position Details:

  • Location: New Orleans, LA area (locations to be assigned)
  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 7 hours per day plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch, following the school calendar (approximately 35 hours per week)
  • Age group: To be determined based on student assignments
