Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Special Education Teacher opportunity is available for the 2026-2027 school year within multiple school sites in the Lancaster, SC area. This contract position offers a chance to work in a variety of classroom settings across elementary, middle, and high school levels, supporting students with diverse learning needs in both self-contained and co-taught resource environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction in moderate to multi-categorical special education classrooms.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to co-teach and support resource rooms.
  • Adapt lessons and teaching strategies to meet individual student needs.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate with parents and staff.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications:

  • Active South Carolina Special Education Teaching License with multi-categorical certification or required endorsements.
  • Experience working in special education settings, preferably across elementary, middle, or high school age groups.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Position Details:

  • Contract dates: July 27, 2026 – May 28, 2027
  • Hours range from 35 to 37.5 per week depending on assignment.
  • Elementary schedules typically run 8:30 AM to 3:35 PM.
  • Middle school schedules typically run 7:30 AM to 2:45 PM; part-time options available.
  • High school schedules typically run 8:30 AM to 3:35 PM.
  • Onsite presence preferred with virtual or hybrid options considered closer to start date.
