Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make an impact this school year by supporting students in a Middle School Intensive Communications Program. This full-time opportunity is ideal for special education professionals passionate about empowering students with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities. You’ll work in a dynamic classroom of nine students, each engaged in a unique blend of functional academics and life skills—ranging from using a mini-kitchen and laundry area to going on community-based field trips. With two experienced paraprofessionals at your side, you’ll guide learners through a curriculum rooted in Unique Learning, ensuring every student receives the individual attention and support they deserve.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid LBS1 and PEL certification required (please attach a screenshot of your license as a blank page at the end of your resume)
- Experience preferred in supporting students with Autism or in functional academic programs
- Ability to foster an inclusive classroom culture that values diverse learning needs
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to communication and functional/life skills
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals for a cohesive classroom environment
- Design and implement engaging lessons using Unique Learning and other resources
- Ensure IEP goals are met, documenting progress as required
- Organize and supervise skill-building field trips and daily living activities
This contract position runs from August 14 through November 1, with the possibility of extension based on district needs. Joining this classroom means helping students discover independence and confidence in a supportive, resource-rich setting.
