This full-time, onsite opportunity in South Lyon, MI, is designed for a dedicated Special Education Teacher focused on elementary self-contained classrooms. The role centers on developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) that address the unique learning needs of each student, with a particular emphasis on supporting learners with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Key responsibilities include designing and delivering differentiated instruction using evidence-based strategies, creating structured classroom environments that accommodate communication and sensory needs, and utilizing data to guide instructional decisions. The teacher will collaborate closely with special education professionals, general education staff, therapists, and families to foster student growth. Additional duties involve implementing behavior intervention plans (BIPs), supporting social and life skills development, and ensuring compliance with all relevant special education regulations.

Ideal candidates will hold a Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program and have approval as a School Social Worker in Michigan. A strong understanding of Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), trauma-informed practices, and social-emotional learning is essential. Exceptional communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills are necessary for success in this role. Candidates must be authorized to work in the US and pass both background checks and drug screenings.
