Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher specializing in Extensive Support Needs (ESN) to support students with significant cognitive, communicative, or physical disabilities. This contract position is based in Yuba City, California, with the assignment running from the start date as soon as possible through June 5th, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction tailored to students with extensive support needs, ranging from transitional kindergarten through age 22.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that address the unique challenges and goals of each student.
- Collaborate with families, therapists, and other educational professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Manage a caseload primarily focused on moderate to severe disabilities, delivering appropriate educational accommodations and modifications.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly to promote growth and development.
Qualifications:
- Valid Education Specialist Instruction Credential with a focus on Extensive Support Needs.
- Experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities.
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with significant cognitive, communicative, or physical disabilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learning needs.
