General Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Special Education Teacher, the Special Education Paraeducator is responsible for supporting and assisting students with disabilities in various school settings. The Special Education Paraeducator, consistent with the individual education plan (IEP) or individual family service plan (IFSP) assists the Special Education Teacher with lesson plan preparation; one-on-one and small group instruction; classroom management; student observation and assessment; and communication with parents and staff.

Salary:
The full salary range for this position is $18.96 - $23.57 per hour. Newly hired paraeducators will be placed on steps 1 - 3 of our salary schedule ($18.96 - $20.29 per hour). Step placement will be based on years of verified paraeducator or teacher experience.
Assignment/Location:
We are recruiting for a Special Education Paraeducator to serve Skamania School District. This position is 32.5 hours per week, school year schedule.

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & Skills
Minimum Qualifications: * At least 18 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications: * Experience in a special education classroom setting.
Working Conditions/Employment Requirements
Working Conditions: * Classroom setting, may move from classroom to classroom to provide services.
Employment Requirements: * Successful completion of a criminal history and fingerprint check through the Washington State Patrol and FBI.
