Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Special Education Teacher position is open for the high school adaptive classroom in Advance, North Carolina, providing an impactful opportunity to support students with diverse learning needs. This contract role runs from April 13 through the end of the school year, offering 37.5 hours per week within a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to high school students in an adaptive special education classroom
  • Manage a caseload of approximately 26 students, collaboratively shared with two other special education teachers
  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to students unique needs
  • Maintain clear communication with students, families, and school staff to support student progress
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate with educational professionals to enhance program effectiveness

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid North Carolina Adaptive Special Education teaching license is required
  • Experience teaching at the high school level in adaptive special education settings preferred
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and classroom management
  • Ability to work cooperatively within a multidisciplinary team

Additional Details:

  • Location: Advance, NC, in a high school setting
  • Contract Duration: April 13 through End of School Year
  • Weekly Hours: 37.5 hours
  • Interview: Conducted remotely via Zoom with the Special Education Director
