Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This contract opportunity is for an onsite Early Childhood Teacher position within a school setting in Wilmington, DE, starting February 17, 2026, and ending June 11, 2026. The role involves working 37.5 hours per week with a 30-minute paid lunch break. The primary focus is on providing specialized education and support to early childhood students within the special education caseload.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Delaware teaching license required; please attach license and resume with your application.
- Preferred dual licensure in Special Education and Early Childhood Education; however, candidates holding either license are encouraged to apply.
- Experience working with early childhood students in special education settings.
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and the ability to tailor instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and educational staff.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to early childhood students based on their unique educational needs.
- Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and support staff to implement individualized education plans.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly to maximize learning outcomes.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of student performance and communicate regularly with families and school personnel.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment promoting growth and development.
