Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher serving students with diverse needs in a Setting 3 classroom environment for the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time role offers the chance to work closely with a small, dedicated caseload of approximately 6-10 students diagnosed with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). You’ll work exclusively in one building, creating stability and a supportive environment for your students.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Special Education teaching license with ASD or DCD endorsement (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required)
  • Previous experience teaching or supporting students with developmental cognitive disabilities or autism spectrum disorder, ideally in a specialized setting
  • Understanding of evidence-based instructional strategies, IEP development, and progress monitoring
  • Strong collaboration skills to partner with related service providers, families, and fellow educators
  • Empathy, patience, and a commitment to advocating for each student’s unique learning needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction and individualized support to students in a Setting 3 classroom
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to each student’s goals and needs
  • Employ specialized strategies and accommodations to support behavioral and academic growth
  • Maintain consistent communication with families, offering updates and resources
  • Collaborate with other staff to foster an inclusive, structured, and nurturing learning environment
  • Uphold compliance with state, local, and federal special education requirements

This contract position begins August 31, 2026 and continues through June 4, 2027, with a 37.5-hour work week to allow for student, family, and teacher connections.
