Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A unique opportunity is available for a certified Special Education teacher with skills in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) education to provide full-time, in-home academic instruction and support for a student near Cochran, Georgia. This role requires a compassionate professional dedicated to delivering personalized education services directly in the student's home environment, ensuring accessibility and comprehensive support.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification in Special Education and Deaf and Hard of Hearing education
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) to facilitate communication for academic and other related services
- Experience working with students in home-based settings or one-on-one instructional environments
- Strong understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs) and ability to tailor academic instruction accordingly
- Patience, adaptability, and excellent interpersonal skills to engage effectively with the student and coordination with therapists and other service providers
Location: Cochran, Georgia area (near Bleckley County Primary School)
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering all academic services as outlined in the students IEP within the home setting
- Providing sign language interpretation during therapies, vision instruction, and other services to support comprehensive communication
- Collaborating with therapists and specialists to align educational strategies with the students needs
- Monitoring progress and maintaining documentation to ensure goals are met and communicated to relevant parties
