Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher specializing in Early Childhood education, based in Wilmington, DE. The position is a contract role from February 17, 2026, to June 11, 2026, with a commitment of 37.5 hours per week, including a 30-minute paid lunch break.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to young learners within an early childhood special education caseload.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and families to support student development.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable education regulations and district guidelines.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teaching license is required.
  • A Delaware teaching license must be provided to be considered.
  • Preferred candidates hold dual licensure in Special Education and Early Childhood Education; however, candidates with either license are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience working with early childhood populations in an educational setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • This position serves the Brandywine School District.
