Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity is for Special Education Teachers to support students across multiple school sites in Lancaster, SC, from July 27, 2026, through May 28, 2027. The positions offer a mix of elementary, middle, and high school settings, with roles ranging from self-contained classrooms serving multiple categories of disabilities to co-taught resource rooms. The workweek averages between 35 and 37.5 hours depending on assignment, with a part-time option available at the middle school level.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction in moderate to severe disability classrooms and resource rooms
  • Collaborate with general education teachers within co-taught classrooms
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations
  • Communicate regularly with parents, staff, and support teams

Qualifications:

  • Active South Carolina Special Education teaching license with multi-category endorsement or required certifications
  • Experience working in moderate to severe special education settings preferred
  • Ability to adapt instructional techniques to meet diverse learning needs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment

Work Schedule:

  • Elementary School: 8:30 AM to 3:35 PM (5 positions)
  • Middle School: 7:30 AM to 2:45 PM (7 positions, including 1 part-time role at 18–20 hours/week)
  • High School: 8:30 AM to 3:35 PM (2 positions)

Onsite presence is preferred, with virtual considerations closer to the start date.

This contract position provides the chance to make a meaningful impact on students’ educational journeys across different grade levels.
