Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A part-time Virtual Special Education Teacher opportunity is available to support students in middle and high school through a virtual learning platform. This position is ideal for educators with North Carolina Special Education credentials who are looking to work remotely and make a meaningful impact on students educational journeys.

Location:

  • Henderson, NC (Virtual role)

Position Details:

  • Contract term: 2025/2026 School Year, starting ASAP until June 11, 2026
  • Work schedule: Monday through Friday, 25 hours per week plus 1 hour weekly planning time
  • Caseload: Resource support for students in grades 6-12; includes 6-8 STEM focus at the virtual academy

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs through a fully virtual format
  • Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with state standards and student goals
  • Collaborate with virtual school staff, parents, and related service providers to optimize student outcomes
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as necessary to meet individual needs
  • Utilize virtual teaching tools to engage and support learners in a remote environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valid North Carolina Special Education teaching certification
  • Experience teaching middle and high school students, especially within STEM disciplines
  • Strong organizational and communication skills tailored to virtual education settings
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments while maintaining high-quality instruction
