Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a transformative impact as a Special Education Teacher by supporting a high-functioning, verbal 5th-grade student who requires individualized academic and behavioral interventions. This is a full-time, on-site contract role providing one-on-one instruction and behavioral guidance in a setting that goes beyond traditional self-contained classrooms. The assignment begins as soon as possible and is anticipated to extend through May 2026, with a strong possibility of renewal for the 2026/2027 school year.

What You’ll Need:

  • Valid Georgia Teaching Certification (GaPSC)
  • Elementary Special Education Certification
  • Experience with behavioral support, especially managing physically aggressive behaviors
  • School-based special education background, preferably at the elementary level
  • Reliable transportation for daily attendance
  • Willingness to provide documentation/certificates upon request

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored academic instruction with a focus on reading support
  • Collaborate closely with a dedicated paraprofessional and fellow teacher
  • Foster a structured, safe, and supportive learning environment
  • Implement behavior management strategies and support the student with challenging behaviors
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with the student’s educational team and caregivers
  • Participate in district-provided restraint training if necessary
